My life in a nutshell....

Insane. Miss C has about weathered her first fever virus. Here's how it went down:
Mommy and Daddy had a mild (no not wild, mild) night out planned Friday night courtesy of Valleydale Church. Once a month they watch your child for 3 hours for 10 bucks. You know me, I love a deal. We were gonna get crazy, like go to CPK. I know, can you stand the excitement?
But alas, no. Miss C was in a FUNK and went to sleep at 6pm...and so did Mommy after she cried herself to sleep in a dramatic display of self pity. The next day Daddy comments on her continuing irritability and the light finally dawned. Felt the forehead and discovered she had turned into a firecracker during her nap. Well Duh. Over course it's Saturday morning which means suck it up or go to the weekend clinic for hours. So we suck it up. And suck it up. And suck it up.
By Monday morning I am a walking zombie. I have been setting an alarm clock at night and checking her fever once every hour. I'm exhausted and so is she. That little booger actually rolled and covered her ear at one point shielding it from the thermometer. We finally see Dr. Waldo (is it just me or is his name the best?). She's the fifth child today with this virus. I think Dr. W. gets a kick out of me. I am hyper-uber nuts when it comes to Miss C. He chuckles at the alarm clock scenario. Come to think of it he chuckles almost everytime I see him. Like last Christmas when I thought she swallowed a jingle bell. And the time I made him measure Glenn's head (it's a tad large) to prove for Miss C it's genetic and not a mutation.
Short story long, she's gonna live, it's almost over and I'm a little bit wiser about fevers. It won't make her deaf (my neurotic fear) and Dr. W. gave me a short history on Helen Keller who by the way is from Alabama in some way. Who knew?

You are the only person I know who can make a description of a fever virus sound hilarious. Glad she is starting to feel better. :-)
