So we watch Playhouse Disney at our house. This post isn't about how my brain is turning to absolute mush. That's for another day. No what I find hysterical are the messages within these shows.
Special Agent OSO has gained cult status here. We sing the theme song before nap and bedtime. Right after Jesus Loves Me. Very weird. What's troubling are the parents on this show. They need a stuffed bear to teach their kids how to brush their teeth or pack for a trip. Where are these lazy parents? Why are teddy bears doing all the work? Of course if they would do an episode on a 3 step potty training program and send OSO to do the dirty work I wouldn't say no.
My other fave is the newest episode of Tigger and Pooh. Turtle decides to lose his shell in a quest for freedom and fun. Of course he learns the grass is never greener and he'll lose the ability to hug his best friend Porcupine. I secretly think she's his girlfriend, but that's just the hopeless romantic in me. Anyway, in the end he wears his shell, but it's his closing line that makes me hoot out loud. He says, "Some folks are just worth wearing a shell for." I'm telling you it's a preschool special. If he loves you he'll wear a shell. Of course he if loved you he wouldn't pressure you to give unprotected hugs. The pressures on the playground these days.

It's never too early to teach them sex ed, huh? I haven't seen that episode!
Although I will thank Oso for Nathan's willingness to brush his teeth. Before it was a battle.
