My child the Zombie

Miss C has lost the need for sleep. Ever. A week ago one of the sleep fates flipped a switch and she began waking at 6:00am on the dot. Daily. Then she bumped it to 5:50. Then 5:40. Today I hear her stroller coming across the foyer at 5:00am. I quickly scoop her up after saying to sound asleep hubby, "Can you believe this?" His response-Zzzz.
I really have two, maybe two and a half problems. One-she is in a big girl bed. She did fine for a while until problem two occured. Her monitor is on the fritz. But only at night. Seriously, it works all day-I've tested it-and then 8:00pm rolls around and it is possessed. Frick. So Hubs and I are having to sleep with our door open and Stinko's door open. Commence the half problem. Before, when life was fair and she was in a crib, if she woke she would quickly fall back asleep. Even in a big girl bed she could lull herself to sleep knowing her door was closed. (She has no ambition when it comes to learning to open doors, thank goodness.) But now that all obstacles have been removed-pure misery. She is sleeping less and less everyday. Shorter naps. Shorter nighttime sleep. The beauty of it-she still requires enormous amounts of sleep. As do I.
She is currently in her room refusing to sleep. It's 1:30pm. She was awake at 5:00am, the again at 6:45. She went to the park and played hard. She should be exhausted. She is in fact exhausted but she is in a heated contest with rest and is currently winning. Although it is safe to say there are only losers at this point. Me being the biggest.

We just finished with this same battle. I thought I might call DFCS on myself, but after a MONTH-- order was restored. We had to put a latch at the top of her door on the outside. After a few days of her fighting to get out, we made a deal. Take a nap and I won't lock the door. For some reason it worked. Hang in there!! Maybe just maybe she will go back to sleeping. For now get some good concealer for the bags under your eyes (lol)

I was a loser today, too. I am starting to feel like a loser every day (in regards to naps, especially).
